Description

The car park for a new multi-unit social housing development required treatment to Auckland Council standards. The Filterra® device was chosen for its small footprint and minimal maintenance costs.

Biofiltration presents advantages over engineered solutions - however is often discounted for tight urban environments due to large footprint requirements.

The innovative solution at Atkinson Ave collected stormwater from a 1400m² car park into a conveyance swale, treated by a Filterra® 3.6m x1.8m. The small footprints of the Filterra® allowed green infrastructure to be used instead of a 30m² rain garden.
