The LittaTrap™ Structural Bracket System: Building Resilience Below the Surface

13 October 2023

When it comes to stormwater management devices, structural integrity isn't just a preference – it's a necessity.

Traditional catch basin insert systems can often overlook the importance of a robust structural support system. We recognize that the foundation of an effective stormwater solution lies in a design that can withstand the pressures of both static and hydraulic loads while ensuring long-term reliability.

Decades of Research and Design

Our flagship product, the LittaTrap™ insert, stands as a testament to our commitment to structural excellence. Developed through rigorous Finite Element Analysis (FEA), the bracket arms of the LittaTrap™ are engineered to handle static and hydraulic loads of up to 800 lbs (360 kg). To achieve this impressive durability, the bracket arms utilize a glass-filled nylon composite material, which has undergone exhaustive lab testing to ensure it surpasses design load expectations.

One of the key advantages of our Structural Bracket System is its cantilevered design. This design, anchored with stainless steel Masonry anchor bolts, simplifies the installation process while providing a permanent and reliable structural support. By securely attaching the bracket to the catch basin wall, the filter basket assembly can be easily lifted for maintenance activities. Furthermore, placing the structural assembly below the grate/frame level addresses issues arising from variances in grate frames from different manufacturers, eliminating the risk of trip hazards.

We know that a robust structural system isn't just about function; it's about adaptability and ease of maintenance. By implementing a well-engineered bracket system, we've achieved a solution that not only performs impeccably under various loads but also simplifies maintenance, ensuring that our LittaTrap™ insert remains a reliable, low-hassle stormwater management tool.
