With the National Code of Practice for the Three Water Reform under development, the time is ripe for the development of a national standard for evaluating innovative stormwater technologies.

It is time to consider a New Zealand standard for evaluating and testing stormwater innovations. Our current toolbox of solutions needs to be broadened to manage climate change and achieve our water quality goals. A standard for testing and evaluation will create a pathway for innovation to be developed and adopted.
