Description

The Albany Highway North Upgrade is Auckland Transport's biggest roading project on the North Shore since the Northern Busway with an estimated $38 million construction budget.

SandFilters were originally specified on this project for removal of total suspended solids (TSS) and heavy metals for a combined 4.5Ha catchment. However these proved to be too expensive (Capital & forecasted Maintenance) compared with modern advances in proprietary stormwater treatment devices.

StormFilters were chosen by the client as the best practical alternative due to their superior performance, assured environmental benefit, reduced hydraulic effect and capital, operation and maintenance costs.
