The $406m Victoria Park Tunnel development main tender was won by consortium comprising Fletcher Construction, Beca Engineering, Higgins Contractors and Parsons Brinckerhoff.
The project consists of the construction of a new 440m tunnel below Victoria park and motorway widening to form 5 lanes in each direction.
Stormwater360's
StormFilter - media filter was specified to treat stormwater runoff from the motorway approach and tunnel areas of the project.
Due to the high traffic loading and requirement to capture dissolved heavy metals from the runoff, Stormwater360 ZPGTM filter media consisting of Zeolite, Perlite and Granular activated carbon was used in the StormFilter Cartridges.
A total of 5 StormFilter vaults were installed to treat the Northern approach to the tunnel, with one vault yet to be installed to treat the Southern approach and one vault for the tunnel runoff. When completed, approx. 140 cartridges will be installed into the 7 devices..
