The requirement to treat around 5.5 hectares of surface area, of the new Tauranga Harbour bridge and its approaches provided a substantial challenge. The Tauranga City Council consent required that the treatment system removed at least 75% of the Total Suspended Solid (TSS) loading as well as removal of dissolved heavy metals such as Zic, Copper, Arsenic and Lead.
