The first 'Drywell' or soakage StormFilter in New Zealand was installed at the corner of SH73 and Pound Rd, Christchurch. The site required onsite soakage and treatment of TSS, oil & grease and organics from surrounding trees and maintenance of the roadside verge.
7 perlite filled 'Tall' 69cm cartridges were used in the 2.1m diameter filtering chamber, discharging directly into the perforated soakage chamber below.
Stormwater360 designer Nick Vigar states "Site constraints meant that the challenge of placing a filtration device upstream of a soakage field leant itself perfectly to the Drywell StormFilter. The final unit was very compact and could be easily located in the road berm"
