Design
The coastal subdivision utilises two StormFilter media filtration devices with Vortchs pre-treatment vaults upstream to prolong maintenance frequencies. A Vortechs 5000 is installed upstream of the 90 cartridge Box culvert stormFilter, and a Vortechs 1000 upstream of the 17 cartridge StormFilter. StormFilters are using Perlite filter media primarily for removal of Total Suspended Solids (TSS). Flow rate of the StormFilters has been restricted to half the normal flow rate to increase removal efficiency for this particular site.
Maintenance
Both StormFilters at Blackrock subdivision are using perlite filter media. The 90 cartridge StormFilter's maintenance frequency is in excess of 3years, and the 18 cartridge StormFilter in excess of 2 years. The Vortechs GPT pre-treatment devices are inspected quarterly and are estimated require maintenance anually.
